Under the supervision Operations Director, Clinical Chief and Practice Manager of the Dermatology Suites, you will be responsible for supervision of the clinical staff. Duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinating all clinical activities
Supervision of the clinical staff
Ensuring that all regulatory body regulations (e.g. OSHA, JCAHO, DHS) are compliant.
Responsible for the all-around healthcare needs of patients who are under the care management of the faculty members on an as needed basis.
Act as liaison between the MDs, the patients (including the family and staff members), schedulers, clinic staff and UCLA and non-UCLA physicians involved with the patients' healthcare.
Provide up-to-date patient status reporting to the physicians and nurse supervisor by presenting laboratory or procedural results either in written or verbal form as well as conveying information from patients.
Perform clinical nursing duties that includes but not limited to assisting physicians in performing procedures in Gen, Peds, and Surgical Dermatology,
Administering medications, monitoring vital signs and medications, triage and act on patient calls, inbasket messages, and in person.
Provide health education, procedure instruction/information to patients and families.
You will be expected to work with minimal supervision.The Practice Manager, Operations Direction and Clinical Chief for Dermatology will review work. You will independently coordinate and prioritize tasks by using protocols established by the Department, as well as the policies and procedures established by the UCLA Health Enterprise.
Salary Range: $124,600 - $289,400/annually
Qualifications
Required:
Current active California Registered Nurse License
Demonstrated leadership style that includes time management, delegation, conflict resolution and problem solving.
Ability to accept direction from administration and act promptly.
Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Outpatient and primary nursing skills
Demonstrated experience in supervision and training of RNs and nursing support staff
Knowledge of dermatology procedures including MOHS surgery
Ability to establish working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators.
Skill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform clinical procedures and physical examinations.
Ability and knowledge to handle emergent situations appropriately and in accordance with EMTALA.
Ability, expertise and skill to work independently while performing a variety of IV diagnostic tests and expertise and skill in maintaining and accessing blood specimens from central line catheters.
