Job Summary
In collaboration with the Chair of Medicine, the Division Chief is responsible for oversight of a clinical practice team, and is responsible for oversight of site management team, and all the clinical (licensed) physicians and APPs on staff.
Essential Functions:
Clinical Practice - Maintains an active primary care clinical practice in discipline. Leads by example in achieving own clinical practice productivity, quality goals and patient satisfaction (35%)
Operations, Works with designated Directors of Service in oversight of operations of the clinical team, including productivity, quality of care, patient experience and staff / provider engagement. Monitors and aligns performance with Denver Health strategic pillars. Assists in recruiting providers. Supervises clinic practice manager, and all providers in the practice. (35%)
Scholarly Activity, including Clinical Research and Educational activities. Time allocated above 10% will be based on ability to bring in external grant funding to cover this time. Works with Director of service to support relevant academic work at clinical site. (30%)
Education:
Doctorate Degree Required
Work Experience:
4-6 years At least 5 years of outpatient clinic experience with demonstrated leadership qualities and evidence of leading initiatives at the clinic or division level, and/or oversight of advanced practice providers. Required and

ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association Required and
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and interest in multi-disciplinary ambulatory care, ability to work in teams and motivate physicians and other providers to improve quality, patient experience and operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with a wide variety staff and as well as administration.
Possess critical thinking, analytical and teaching/coaching skills.
Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff while providing quality medical care, able to analyze, interpret and act upon relevant clinical and financial data that pertain to the practice.
Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to accept and implement change.
Demonstrated history of positive collegial relations with colleagues, support staff, providers, administrators and patients.
